Skills and Traits are one of the most kept secret in MafiaMatrix after stats. A character needs to gain any Skills or trait to get all its benefits. However most of the players who experimented how to obtain a skill or trait. Upon asking in Help Forums, you will not get any secret on how to gain a skill or trait. The better way is to experiment with your character and learn with time or ask a senior player on IRC.

Skills
Skills are the ability which needs to be activated through 'Character Skills' page in the Income menu. It uses the skill timer and works for a limited period of time. The Skill timer has a cool down period of 3 hours, only after that you can use your skill again. The skills in the game are as following:
Private Investigator
No. of Ranks 1
Rank 1: Investigate an incident report for more information. Cooldown 4 hours
Combat Medic
No. of Ranks 3 - Removed on 8/21/2020
Rank 1: You can heal someone else for 15 health. There is a 5 hour cooldown on this skill.
Rank 2: You can heal someone else for 30 health. There is a 5 hour cooldown on this skill.
Rank 3: You can heal someone else for 45 health. There is a 5 hour cooldown on this skill.
Diligent Worker

Rank 1: Motivate anyone to work harder, cutting their earn timer by 50% for 15 minutes!
Throw Snowball
No. of Ranks 1 - Unlocked by admins during Xmas Holiday season
Rank 1: Knock someone out with a well-aimed snowball in the face!
Mafia Hit Squad: Planner

Traits
Traits are the passive ability of a character which remains active and need not to be activated by any means. Thus they do not use Skill timer to be used. The traits found in the game are as following:

Rank 1: Your trafficking timer is decreased by 10 minutes when pushing drugs and by 2 minutes when buying and selling black market items. Your drug bonus has also been increased by 30 units. You also manufacture 20 extra drug units.
Rank 2: Your trafficking timer is decreased by 15 minutes when pushing drugs and by 2 minutes when buying and selling black market items. Your drug bonus has also been increased by 40 units. You also manufacture 35 extra drug units.
Rank 3: Your trafficking timer is decreased by 25 minutes when pushing drugs and by 2 minutes when buying and selling black market items. Your drug bonus has also been increased by 50 units. You also manufacture 50 extra drug units.
