The Airport is one of the two ways of transportation for players, the other being a personal vehicle.The airport is the lesser used of these two methods mainly because of the inefficiency of time. If a player were to use a car to transport themselves, they could control what time they traveled, compared to the Airport, which sends its planes out each hour, on the hour. The travel timer on the airport may read as '25 minutes to travel', but the truth is that since the Airport only travels out each hour, effectively making you wait an hour in between each travel. With personal transportation you do have the added bonus of being able to travel whenever you'd like (assuming your travel timers are ready) with personal transportation.
