===Pickpocket===
This is the first step towards your crime career. You can pickpocket online players who are in city, which will reset their agg-pro timer and set your agg strength to 0%. You can get a small portion of money they have in their hands, most come from their dirty money on hands. The agg timer is not used here, thus you can do pickpocket as much as you want, but it'll be failed at lower agg strength if you are not strong enough.

===Mugging===
Mugging is the agg which is forbidden by every CL(City Leader), as it takes max health. Thus you should avoid it, unless you want to harm the opponent and thus getting shot by him or your CL.

===Carjacking (GTA)===
GTA is another agg which is forbidden in almost every city except those which has vehicle yard in them. GTA uses agg timer and will steal the opponents vehicle. The catch here is, you won't get the vehicle, using the agg will sell the vehicle in black market and you'll get few thousands cash. Thus it's a loss to you if you have to pay that back. In order to GTA players who are offline, you need to have done 5 GTA's on online players first.

===Breaking & Entering===
Referred as B&E, this agg is used to break and enter the opponent's apartment and steal things stashed there, it could be dirty cash, weapons and drugs. Dogs and armors can't be stolen using this agg. As this agg steals drugs too, thus you should avoid doing this on gangsters unless you have millions to pay back.

===Jail Break===
Jail Break is used to break out your friend from the prison. It needs a partner to plan. The partner must be from same city (if legit) or from same crew (if gangster). To execute the Jail Break, all three i.e. the planner, partner and the person inside the jail needs to be online. Delaying Jail Break after planning will increase the chance of failing it. The agg uses agg timer of both planner and partner.

===Smuggle Heroin into Jail===
As the name suggest, you can smuggle heroines to your friend in jail. It needs agg timer to use.

===Armed Robbery===
It is referred as AR and used to rob a local business. Once an AR is executed on a business, it gets protection for some time.
Hint: Those business which are unprotected, are marked with '*'.

===Torch someone's Apartment===
The favorite agg of any arsonist out there. Burn down someone's apartment and everything inside it. Ask the victim first before executing it, if you want to play nice.

===Torch a local Business===
Set the local businesses on fire. Do not torch Drug house though, it'll lead you to the R.I.P. page.

===Bank Robbery===
Leave it for Capo or higher, as doing ti without auth of your CL and you will either get shot by the SWAT or the CL. This agg is used to raise cash for crew fronts, as it gives a massive amount of cash, taken from every local bank account.

Good for those who got sick with their player and want to suicide.

However most of the players who experimented how to obtain a skill or trait. Upon asking in Help Forums, you will not get any secret on how to gain a skill or trait. The better way is to experiment with your character and learn with time or ask a senior player on IRC.

Skills are the ability which needs to be activated through 'Character Skills' page in the Income menu. It uses the skill timer and works for a limited period of time. ===== I have a question; where do I go to ask it? =====

If you have a question, you should start by looking in the Changelog. The Changelog can be very helpful if you are having trouble with something that has recently been changed - especially for ex-Injustice players. If you are unable to locate the answer in the change log, then the next place to look would be the Help Forum. We recommend that you do not post at first, instead you should use the Search feature. Chances are, if you`re having a problem, someone has had, or is having, a similar problem. Another helpful place for answers is here, the Help Site, where many guides can be found. After you have checked all of these places you should post in the help forum; there are plenty of players willing to answer your questions. Another faster way of getting an answer is to ask on our IRC channel #mafiamatrix at Jaundies server.

===== There was a case closed on me, but I didn't do anything. Why was this done to me? =====

On occasion, you will find that a case or two may have been closed on you for a crime you did not commit. If you convicted for a crime that you did not commit, then you will get this message at the end of the conviction journal entry, "Hopefully you find a good lawyer because you know you never did that crime!" This usually happens when there is insufficient evidence and police officers decide to guess, more or less, on the who the suspect is and end framing it on an innocent civilian. The officer would normally place in the case notes that he is making a guess due to insufficient evidence and leaves it to the Judge to decide on whether to find the defendant Guilty or Not Guilty. Another reason you may have been framed is if your name and the actual criminal's name end with the same last 3 letters, or if you have similar DNA or fingerprint IDs.

===== Why I am able to edit the Help Forum? =====

If you are at the top of a legit career, like Hospital Director, a gangster who is Boss or higher, or Mayor, you are given special privileges to edit the Help Forum. This gives you the chance to take actively help the community. You will only have these abilities while you are at that specific rank, so they will be removed until you reach one of those spots again.

===== I lost max health; is there any way I can get it back? =====

You may regain max health points randomly by voting on Banners or using Medipacks. There is only a small chance of gaining max health from both options and it can be anywhere from 1 to 3 points.

===== I want to become a Judge or a Police officer; what do I need to do? =====

In most cities, to be eligible for the opportunity to become a Police Officer or Judge, you need to have previously completed one or two careers in that particular city. Check your city bar for requirements to get an authorization from the current city leader. Being a respectable citizen and helping out others will increase your chances of being added to the waiting list. If you have convictions, you will not be able to begin training for the Police Department. If you have over 10 convictions while you are a police officer or a judge, you will get fired.

===== I am trying to solve police cases; what am I supposed to do? =====

If you are having trouble solving cases, we have a few tips for you in our [[Police|guide]] for the Police Department.

===== What is "JB"? =====

The term "JB" stands for Jail Break, the act of breaking someone out of jail. In order to set up the jail break, the planner and the parter need to be in the city that the prisoner is in. Both the planner and the partner need to have their Agg Timers available to set it up. Once the partner accepts the jail break, the planner will need to execute the jail break as soon as possible from the Jail Break menu on the aggravated crime page. All three people, the planner, the partner and the prisoner, will have to be online at the same time to execute the plan. If successful, the prisoner will be out of jail, however, if you are unsuccessful, then one hour will be added to the prisoner's sentence.

''Note'': Taking too long to execute will lead to the planner being imprisoned for 4 hours.

===== Can I kill someone in another city? =====

Yes, you can, although you will need to travel to them. It is customary to request authorization to whack/GBH someone in another city from that city's leaders. Check the local bar in that city to find out who to ask. If you whack/GBH someone without authorization from a leader, you will most likely be killed yourself.

===== How do I launder dirty money? =====

First, you should to the Yellow Pages in your City Menu and search for "Bank". Next, choose someone from the list, as they should all be in the banking career, who is located in a city other than your Home City and is currently online. Then you should send them a message to add you to their laundering list; you will receive a journal entry when the banker has done so. After they have added you, travel to their city and start laundering with them via Income > Money Laundering.

''Note'': If you are not currently a gangster, you will need to gather some gangster experience before the Money Laundering option is available to you.

===== Can I whack people who are offline? =====

Yes, but only in certain scenarios. You can whack offline players if you are a Godfather, your family is in war mode, you are a family hitman or you are police officer in the SWAT division. Also, if you have unlocked Solo Whack, you can whack IA (Inactive) players who have not logged on for at least 7 days and are unemployed or in first tier of a career.

===== Why have my timers disappeared? =====

If you are a new player, as in you just started your account, you will get the timers for one week, after which they will be removed. If you want to be able to use the timers again, you will need to purchase them via the Donations Page using Donation Money, which can be gained by donating to MafiaMatrix, voting on banners, or you can buy it from the Money Market. Alternatively, you can use one of the two free toolbars.

===== Where can I get a tattoo and how can I remove my current one? =====

You may purchase a tattoo from one of the Tattoo Parlours located in Toronto, Manchester and Chicago. They may be removed in any local hospital.

===== How does Respect work? =====

When you start your new character, you will have 50% respect.

Ways to increase your respect:
* Attempt to or whack someone stronger than you.
* If someone stronger than you attempts to whack you.
* Be at the Top of a Career or a Crew Leader (with members) during the daily respect change.
* Be a gangster in jail as a Lifer during the daily respect change.
* Be a Caporegime during the daily respect change.
* Be a bodyguard, however, this will only last until you are at 55%.

Ways to decrease your respect:
* If someone weaker than you attempts to whack you.
* Attempt to or whack someone weaker than you.
* Be unemployed during the daily respect change.
* Be a legit citizen in jail during respect change.
* Be a Crew Leader (Without Capos), Commissioner (Without Police Officers), Supreme Court Judge (Without Judges), Field Marshal (Without Senior Officers).

If you do not meet any of the criteria above your respect will not change.

===== What are "Agg Pro" and "Whack Pro"? =====

Agg Pro means Aggravated Protection, which is the cool down time (2 Hours) before someone is able to commit another aggravated crime against you. Whack Pro means Whack Protection, which is the cool down time before someone is able to attempt another whack on you. Unlike Agg Pro, Whack Pro times may vary depending on the situation. If someone has attempted to whack you, you will receive 3 hours of protection. However, if you attempt to whack anyone during those 3 hours, then your whack protection time decreases to 15 minutes, although this may vary if you have unlocked the "Death made me hard as nails!" trait (see below). Another difference is when someone attempts to shank you in jail, you will have 4 hours whack protection, instead of the typical 3 hours; additionally, this will not decrease if you attempt to whack someone during those 4 hours.

===== What do Community Services do? =====

Community Services are used for various reasons; the most common use would be to decrease your gangster experience in order to stay legit or to become a legit citizen once again. By doing Community Services, you also help the current mayor's funds as it increases with each service completed.

===== What is the Agg Strength bar? =====

In most aggravated crimes, Agg Strength determines the success of the crime. The Agg Strength bar shows the percentage of the player’s total strength that will be used in the crime; therefore, the higher the percentile, the higher the chance of success. The Agg Strength bar is only available for players who have purchased In-Game Timers.

===== What is a 30 Minute Time Out? =====

A 30 Minute Time Out is a device used to stop people from scripting via mouse tamers. Doing this will set your earn timer to 30 minutes, thus stopping you from earning for the next 30 minutes. Of course, you may choose this option by mistake once in a while, however, admins may look into your account if it happens too often.

===== I have purchased the Character History feature, but where do I access it? =====

Go to your character's Profile and click on "View player history" below your Last Activity and Clothing sections. Alternatively, you could go to Edit Profile > Previous Characters and click on "To view your past promotions, earns, aggs etc then click here..."

===== What are the different wealth status? =====

*Hobo Style = Less than $1,000

*Poor = $1,000 to $24,999

*Average = $25,000 to $249,999

*Wealthy = $250,000 to $999,999

== Creating a character ==

In order to play in the world of MafiaMatrix - you must first create an account with us that will hold your characters. This account costs nothing to create, and will be yours for the rest of the time you play MafiaMatrix.

=== Choosing a name ===

This one is fairly self explanatory. Just come up with a nick name that you wish to be known by.

=== Gender ===

Would you like your character to be male or female. Assigning your sex one or the other can determine how other characters interact with you. If you are confused about this, don't worry you can change it later anytime at hospital.

=== City ===

Choosing a city to start off with can make a difference in your game play at first due to the availability of different goods and services from the different businesses that will be available. If you were referred by someone, you may wish to ask them a good place to start off, or where they are as this will help them keep in contact with you and help to grow your character. For more information on the different cities and what each one of them has for goods and services check the Cities page

=== Degree ===

The degree you chose will determine which of 5 jobs will be instantly available for you to start working in to. There will be other jobs also available for you to train into once you have started your character, and you can always visit the University to study for your other 4 degrees. The option to turn to the life of crime, is of course, always an option. You can learn more about the all of the jobs in Mafia Matrix in the jobs section.

=== Earning ===

This is the most basic form of ranking through jobs and making money. Starting off you will have only a few options of how to earn, but there will be more to come with time. To get to your earns, click on the Income button on the left side of your screen, then on the Earns drop down. Here you will find all of the earns that are currently available to you. Pizza Restaurant, Local 7/11, and Bar/Nightclub will be there for you no matter which degree you start off with. The 4th earn that will be available will depend on which degree you chose.

For new earns you can rank up in a job or study for new degrees. Ranking up will be discussed in the jobs area, you can skip to it now here.

=== Degrees, Jobs, and You ===

Depending on the degree you have chosen you will be given different jobs you can train for. For example, if I have a degree in engineering, I can become a mechanic. If I have a degree in law, I can be a legal secretary. However there are a few jobs that don't require degrees but may require authorization, and have risks to them, here is a listing of jobs and degrees with what they help you to unlock.

==== Degrees ====

Science - Allows you to train to become a Mortician Assistant. This degree also gives you the "Manufacture at Drug House" Agg (15 minute timer) as a Dealer (or higher) in the criminal career path and allows you to train for the forensics division within the Police Department.

Business - Allows you to train to become a Bank Teller (do about 50 Work at local bank earns).

Medicine - Allows you to train to become a Nurse and later, Doctor.

Law - Allows you to train to become a Lawyer (to become a lawyer, do a few "Legal secretary" earns, and rank up from your Legal Secretary position) or Judge (by authorization).

Engineering - Allows you to train to become a Car Mechanic and later, Engineer.

==== Jobs ====

Armed Forces - Strongly recommended to new players, the ranks are somewhat easy to surpass, at the same time the career is rewarding and no authorization is needed.

Criminal - It is preferred not to choose this career unless you have tried at least 1-2 other careers, there is a high risk of being killed, however if you choose to survive, it will take a while to get to Piciotto, you will begin understanding the game in a higher perspective once you reach the rank of Capo, soon enough you'll be the Boss, and a highly respected city bold.

=== Making Money ===

There are many different ways to make money. Earning being the easiest and most reliable way. There are also other options that include doing aggravated crimes , working specific skills through your job, Black Market, drugs, competing in competitions and even buying and owning your own businesses.

=== Conflict ===

The one thing you should avoid mostly as a new player would be conflict, regardless of your chances of victoriously killing your enemy, It is best to start off quiet, and out of attention until you get some experience under your belt, otherwise you will end up dead (and I mean dead) like many others who never follow this tip, Friendship is one of the keys to success in this MMORPG, take advantage of it. If you can, try editing your quote in a way which you inform everyone of what is necessary, for example, instead of putting "Mug me, and i'll GBH you to death" try putting "No mugging please, thank you", simply because most players in MM know mugging can harm a players health, try being simple about things, not only will it keep help you survive, but it really helps when quotes with threats of whacking usually are followed once you reach a high criminal rank like Capodecima or Boss, simply because at this point you run a crew with very powerful people (your godfather, your family don, and who can forget, your crew men).

On occasion, you will find that a case or two may have been closed on you for a crime you did not commit. If you convicted for a crime that you did not commit, then you will get this message at the end of the conviction journal entry, "Hopefully you find a good lawyer because you know you never did that crime!" This usually happens when there is insufficient evidence and police officers decide to guess, more or less, on the who the suspect is and end framing it on an innocent civilian. The officer would normally place in the case notes that he is making a guess due to insufficient evidence and leaves it to the Judge to decide on whether to find the defendant Guilty or Not Guilty. Another reason you may have been framed is if your name and the actual criminal's name end with the same last 3 letters, or if you have similar DNA or fingerprint IDs.

===== Why I am able to edit the Help Forum? =====

If you are at the top of a legit career, like Hospital Director, a gangster who is Boss or higher, or Mayor, you are given special privileges to edit the Help Forum. This gives you the chance to take actively help the community. You will only have these abilities while you are at that specific rank, so they will be removed until you reach one of those spots again.

===== I lost max health; is there any way I can get it back? =====

You may regain max health points randomly by voting on Banners or using Medipacks. There is only a small chance of gaining max health from both options and it can be anywhere from 1 to 3 points.

===== I want to become a Judge or a Police officer; what do I need to do? =====

In most cities, to be eligible for the opportunity to become a Police Officer or Judge, you need to have previously completed one or two careers in that particular city. Check your city bar for requirements to get an authorization from the current city leader. Being a respectable citizen and helping out others will increase your chances of being added to the waiting list. If you have convictions, you will not be able to begin training for the Police Department. If you have over 10 convictions while you are a police officer or a judge, you will get fired.

===== What is "JB"? =====

The term "JB" stands for Jail Break, the act of breaking someone out of jail. In order to set up the jail break, the planner and the parter need to be in the city that the prisoner is in. Both the planner and the partner need to have their Agg Timers available to set it up. Once the partner accepts the jail break, the planner will need to execute the jail break as soon as possible from the Jail Break menu on the aggravated crime page. All three people, the planner, the partner and the prisoner, will have to be online at the same time to execute the plan. If successful, the prisoner will be out of jail, however, if you are unsuccessful, then one hour will be added to the prisoner's sentence.

''Note'': Taking too long to execute will lead to the planner being imprisoned for 4 hours.

===== Can I kill someone in another city? =====

Yes, you can, although you will need to travel to them. It is customary to request authorization to whack/GBH someone in another city from that city's leaders. Check the local bar in that city to find out who to ask. If you whack/GBH someone without authorization from a leader, you will most likely be killed yourself.

===== How do I launder dirty money? =====

First, you should to the Yellow Pages in your City Menu and search for "Bank". Next, choose someone from the list, as they should all be in the banking career, who is located in a city other than your Home City and is currently online. Then you should send them a message to add you to their laundering list; you will receive a journal entry when the banker has done so. After they have added you, travel to their city and start laundering with them via Income > Money Laundering.

''Note'': If you are not currently a gangster, you will need to gather some gangster experience before the Money Laundering option is available to you.

===== Can I whack people who are offline? =====

Yes, but only in certain scenarios. You can whack offline players if you are a Godfather, your family is in war mode, you are a family hitman or you are police officer in the SWAT division. Also, if you have unlocked Solo Whack, you can whack IA (Inactive) players who have not logged on for at least 7 days and are unemployed or in first tier of a career.

===== Why have my timers disappeared? =====

If you are a new player, as in you just started your account, you will get the timers for one week, after which they will be removed. If you want to be able to use the timers again, you will need to purchase them via the Donations Page using Donation Money, which can be gained by donating to MafiaMatrix, voting on banners, or you can buy it from the Money Market. Alternatively, you can use one of the two free toolbars.

When you start your new character, you will have 50% respect.

Ways to increase your respect:
* Attempt to or whack someone stronger than you.
* If someone stronger than you attempts to whack you.
* Be at the Top of a Career or a Crew Leader (with members) during the daily respect change.
* Be a gangster in jail as a Lifer during the daily respect change.
* Be a Caporegime during the daily respect change.
* Be a bodyguard, however, this will only last until you are at 55%.

Ways to decrease your respect:
* If someone weaker than you attempts to whack you.
* Attempt to or whack someone weaker than you.
* Be unemployed during the daily respect change.
* Be a legit citizen in jail during respect change.
* Be a Crew Leader (Without Capos), Commissioner (Without Police Officers), Supreme Court Judge (Without Judges), Field Marshal (Without Senior Officers).

If you do not meet any of the criteria above your respect will not change.

===== What are "Agg Pro" and "Whack Pro"? =====

Agg Pro means Aggravated Protection, which is the cool down time (2 Hours) before someone is able to commit another aggravated crime against you. Whack Pro means Whack Protection, which is the cool down time before someone is able to attempt another whack on you. Unlike Agg Pro, Whack Pro times may vary depending on the situation. If someone has attempted to whack you, you will receive 3 hours of protection. However, if you attempt to whack anyone during those 3 hours, then your whack protection time decreases to 15 minutes, although this may vary if you have unlocked the "Death made me hard as nails!" trait (see below). Another difference is when someone attempts to shank you in jail, you will have 4 hours whack protection, instead of the typical 3 hours; additionally, this will not decrease if you attempt to whack someone during those 4 hours.

===== What do Community Services do? =====

In most aggravated crimes, Agg Strength determines the success of the crime. ===== What is a 30 Minute Time Out? =====

A 30 Minute Time Out is a device used to stop people from scripting via mouse tamers. Doing this will set your earn timer to 30 minutes, thus stopping you from earning for the next 30 minutes. Of course, you may choose this option by mistake once in a while, however, admins may look into your account if it happens too often.

So if you've played MafiaMatrix for a while - or simply think its great - donate and show your respect and help keep it alive!

==Donation Money==
Donation Money or DM is what you get after donating to MafiaMatrix or voting on banners. You can view your donation money balance at the Donation Page. You can convert the Donation Money to In-Game money via Money-Market or selling it to the other players. Sometimes players asks for DM in exchange for their business, weapons, bionics etc. You should remember that MafiaMatrix do not support the DM payment for the purpose of buying any commodity, and thus if you get scammed, you won't get your money back. However the scammer will be Admin-whacked.

==Donation Features==

You can buy certain in-game features using your Donation Money, which are mentioned below:

===Remove Google Advertising===
This will remove Google advertising from the game while you play. This will cost you $2.00 per month.

===Profile Picture===
This will allow you to have a custom picture in your profile rather than the default image of your occupation. You can change the picture as often as you desire during the active period. This will cost you $1.50 per month.

===Delete Character Credits===
For each credit you will be able to delete one of your old dead characters and reuse its name. You will not get any of your old money or stats however. This will cost you $2.50 per credit.

===Character Tag Changes===
For each credit you will be able to change the tag (50 characters) in your characters profile. A tag is the coloured writing at the top of your characters profile. Two credits will get you a longer tag (100 characters) in the colour of your choice. This will cost you $1.00 for each tag change.
NOTE: If your character dies the tag will be lost with it.

===Custom Quote Backgrounds===
Custom quote background credits are a currency to buy custom quote backgrounds with. Every quote background has a price in credits attached to it. This will cost you $2.00 for each credit.
NOTE: If your character dies the quote background will be lost with it.

===Advanced Quote===
Get 2000 characters for your quote rather than 500 and be able to format it with different fonts, bold, italic, smilies and more. This will cost you $1.50 per month.

===In Game Timers===
In game timers will give you a real-time ticking timer that will let you know the exact time various user timers are released. You get it free for a week when you first make the account on MafiaMatrix, however after they expire you need to buy them using your Donaton Money. This will cost you $4.00 per month.

===Multi Coloured Buddies===
Multiple colours to select for your buddies. Have one colour for enemies, one for friends, one for your crew etc. This will cost you $2.00 per month.

===Super Buddies===
Your own personalised buddy list in a box on the right hand side of every page. It shows when your mates (or enemies) come online and when they were last active. You can quick link to their profile and they will be coloured if you have the multi-coloured buddies option.
This will cost you $2.00 per month.

===Character History===
Character History. Want to see what your character has done to date? How many earns, how many aggs and when you were promoted? It's not your actual player stats but it saves you trying to count up everything you have done in the game. This will cost you $2.00 per month.

===SMS Alerts===
For each credit you will be able to select different alerts to your mobile phone if you are offline. For example if someone tries to whack you then you get an instant alert on your phone. Most alerts cost 1 credit with the whacking alert costing 2. This will cost you $0.20 for each credit.
NOTE: New SMS options will be made available if it proves popular.

===Change Character Name===
Tired of having the same old name? Or maybe you are going into or coming out of hiding? You can change your character name here, but be warned that any messages you sent to people, posts in the bars etc will all be changed as well so it will be pretty obvious to most players that you have changed your name. This will cost you $5.00 per edit.

===Player Ranking===
If you want to know what rank you are in the game (eg how many people are tougher than you, then you can have a peek here). However this does not gives away the exact rank, the ranks will be shown in a range such as 'You are ranked in the bracket [271 to 280]out of 1080 players'

===Transfer Funds===
It is free to transfer funds to other players. If you choose to use this over the "sell funds" feature (below), you will not be refunded by admin should you be scammed. This option is free of any cost.

===Sell Funds To Another Player===
Note that when selling funds to another player, 2% of the in-game currency will be taken as a tax (as with every monetary transaction). This option is also free except the 2% in-game currency charge.

== Creating a character ==

In order to play in the world of MafiaMatrix - you must first create an account with us that will hold your characters. This account costs nothing to create, and will be yours for the rest of the time you play MafiaMatrix.

This one is fairly self explanatory. Just come up with a nick name that you wish to be known by.

=== Gender ===

Would you like your character to be male or female. Assigning your sex one or the other can determine how other characters interact with you. If you are confused about this, don't worry you can change it later anytime at hospital.

=== City ===

Choosing a city to start off with can make a difference in your game play at first due to the availability of different goods and services from the different businesses that will be available. If you were referred by someone, you may wish to ask them a good place to start off, or where they are as this will help them keep in contact with you and help to grow your character. For more information on the different cities and what each one of them has for goods and services check the Cities page

=== Degree ===

The degree you chose will determine which of 5 jobs will be instantly available for you to start working in to. There will be other jobs also available for you to train into once you have started your character, and you can always visit the University to study for your other 4 degrees. The option to turn to the life of crime, is of course, always an option. You can learn more about the all of the jobs in Mafia Matrix in the jobs section.

=== Earning ===

This is the most basic form of ranking through jobs and making money. Starting off you will have only a few options of how to earn, but there will be more to come with time. To get to your earns, click on the Income button on the left side of your screen, then on the Earns drop down. Here you will find all of the earns that are currently available to you. Pizza Restaurant, Local 7/11, and Bar/Nightclub will be there for you no matter which degree you start off with. The 4th earn that will be available will depend on which degree you chose.

For new earns you can rank up in a job or study for new degrees. Ranking up will be discussed in the jobs area, you can skip to it now here.

=== Degrees, Jobs, and You ===

Depending on the degree you have chosen you will be given different jobs you can train for. For example, if I have a degree in engineering, I can become a mechanic. If I have a degree in law, I can be a legal secretary. However there are a few jobs that don't require degrees but may require authorization, and have risks to them, here is a listing of jobs and degrees with what they help you to unlock.

==== Degrees ====

Science - Gives you the "Manufacture at Drug House" Agg (15 minute timer) as a Dealer (or higher) in the criminal career path, allows you to train for the forensics division within the Police Force.

Business - Allows you to train to become a Bank Teller (do about 50 Work at local bank earns).

Medicine - Allows you to train to become a Doctor.

Law - Allows you to train to become a Lawyer (to become a lawyer, do a few "Legal secretary" earns, and rank up from your Legal Secretary position) or Judge (by authorization).

Engineering - Allows you to train to become a Car Mechanic

==== Jobs ====

Armed Forces - Strongly recommended to new players, the ranks are somewhat easy to surpass, at the same time the career is rewarding and no authorization is needed.

Criminal - It is preferred not to choose this career unless you have tried at least 1-2 other careers, there is a high risk of being killed, however if you choose to survive, it will take a while to get to Piciotto, you will begin understanding the game in a higher perspective once you reach the rank of Capo, soon enough you'll be the Boss, and a highly respected city bold.

=== Making Money ===

There are many different ways to make money. Earning being the easiest and most reliable way. There are also other options that include doing aggravated crimes , working specific skills through your job, Black Market, drugs, competing in competitions and even buying and owning your own businesses.

=== Conflict ===

The one thing you should avoid mostly as a new player would be conflict, regardless of your chances of victoriously killing your enemy, It is best to start off quiet, and out of attention until you get some experience under your belt, otherwise you will end up dead (and I mean dead) like many others who never follow this tip, Friendship is one of the keys to success in this MMORPG, take advantage of it. If you can, try editing your quote in a way which you inform everyone of what is necessary, for example, instead of putting "Mug me, and i'll GBH you to death" try putting "No mugging please, thank you", simply because most players in MM know mugging can harm a players health, try being simple about things, not only will it keep help you survive, but it really helps when quotes with threats of whacking usually are followed once you reach a high criminal rank like Capodecima or Boss, simply because at this point you run a crew with very powerful people (your godfather, your family don, and who can forget, your crew men).
